Maria Wong is a curator and an art producer, currently the Managing Director of HKwalls, and the Co-Director of Current Projects.
Her passion in the arts reflects in her career trajectory; she began her career working with Hong Kong cinema titans Ringo Lam, Tsui Hark and Johnnie To; after a brief stint in the commercial gallery business, she was invited to join the Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation team in 2002 and led the Performing Arts Department of the organisation for 14 years, curating and managing various arts festivals, events, outreach programs and theatre productions.
Maria officially joined HKwalls in 2015. Co-founded by Jason Dembski and Stan Wu, HKwalls a non-profit art organisation that runs an annual street art and mural festival during HK Art Month, strives to produce high-quality arts and creative experiences that are accessible to all.
She established Current Projects in 2017 with Jason Dembski, a creative agency that provides bespoke design and art consultancy to clients worldwide. Together they curate and produce creative content that engages and connects with businesses and their audience.
