馬楚媛 Clara Ma簡介

Clara Ma is a Ph.D. candidate in art and architectural history in the McIntire Department of Art. Her dissertation explores the process of popularization of the images of a Buddhist deity, Thousand-armed Avalokitesvara, and the formation of religious identity in the western borderland of China from the eighth to the tenth century. Her dissertation project received support from the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Summer Research Fellowship and Ellen Bayard Weedon Travel Grant. She served as a PhD+ Liaison and worked on a digital project about Avalokitesvara with Professor Dorothy C. Wong. In the summer of 2020, she will serve as a student research collaborator for the Religion, Race & Democracy Lab. Clara received her B.A. in art history and anthropology from St. Lawrence University and her M.A. in the history of art and archaeology from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.

疫境當前,亞洲文化協會(ACC)承諾繼續培育中國大陸、香港和澳門的創意人才。透過線上及實地交流,致力推動國際間的文化連繫和交流,一起迎接抗疫後的世界。 

香港總監韋志菲表示:「今年我們收到不少優秀的申請計劃書,提出具說服力的跨文化或跨媒體交流的建議。我們期望新一屆的ACC藝術家和學者,以文化連繫及建立雙向溝通,促進不同文化的互相尊重和理解。非常感激我們慷慨的贊助人認同並支持這些交流計畫。」
